Story
Having had Ayla so prematurely she was only given a 30% chance of survival. Doctors and nurses worked tirelessly for months on Ayla between giving her steroids, nursing her and making sure the correct medication was given to make sure she had the best chance of pulling through.
Ayla, for sure, had my nerves shattered even before she was 1 week old.
When Ayla was born she weighed in at a micro 870 Grams, 31cm long and the smallest baby in there at the time.
Although she was small, transparent and had numerous tubes and wires coming from her body, she was mummy's little miracle.
The consultant told me that if Ayla was to survive this traumatic ordeal then she would have at least a 60% chance of having Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida or a severe brain bleed. SHE HAD NONE!!
Ayla and I spent a long 6 months in the Neonatal Unit. This was the longest 6 months I have ever experienced in all my days in this earth.
Sometimes I would spend up to 20 hours by her side, nursing her, feeding her, bathing her.....usually at night I'd just watch her sleep.
If it wasn't for the love, care and support of Wishaw General Neonatal unit, especially Dr Sam Ibhanesebhor and his specialist doctors then Ayla wouldn't be here today.
I feel its time to thank them for all their hard work and dedication they gave Ayla.
No amount of money, gifts or anything else will ever be sufficient in thanking them, however I feel a contribution of some-kind may help with more technology, or to bring in another nurse to help out.
Please donate whatever you can, even if you cant make it to the race night on the 10th September.
Many Thanks

Hi, Ayla is now a bright, smart and clever toddler who loves to run about and play in the garden, however her complex respiratory disease sometimes holds her back. Nevertheless she is growing and developing like she should be. LETS RAISE FUNDS TOWARDS WISHAW - NICU X
