Hi, I am raising money for Mountain rescue Torridon and Kinlochewe because this March, 2016, I was involved in a bouldering accident which left me with at least limb threatening if not life threatening injuries to my lower leg. I am only here, relatively comfortably lying in a hospital bed and setting up this crowdfund, because my friends and a number of services incuding Rescue 951, GPs from Torridon, Mountain Rescue Torridon and Kinlochewe, and our fantastic NHS saved my life.... and hopefully my leg!
So why Mountain Rescue Torridon and Kinlochewe? Because unlike the other services, Mountain Rescue Torridon and Kinochewe recieve no funding except from donations from the public. At a moments notice, they drop their normal day jobs and get to the scene as quickly as possible. In my case, they provided a helicopter and a number of specialist equiment and personnel to make me feel more comfortable and in order to immobilise my leg for me to transported to hospital.
