    Story

John Gurr, UK Coordinator of the Western Sahara Campaign, told me about a demonstration to be held outside the Moroccan Embassy to mark 40 years of Moroccan occupation of the Western Sahara. I went along and took this photo.

The resources of the Western Sahara are being exploited by Morocco, who claim to have sovereignty of the area, and deal commercially with foreign companies, including British companies, regarding resources which belong to the Western Saharan people, the Saharawi.

Day 12: New Quay to Aberystwyth 24 miles. Final destination reached at 2 pm after a clear and sunny journey and celebrated with a beer on the Prom, looking at the sea. Thank you for all your support and for helping to reach the target. Special thanks to Moyra for driving me home!

Day 11: Newport to New Quay 32 miles. Wet morning but sun came out at midday. We enjoyed cycling on back roads beyond Cardigan + views of the bay at Tresaith & Aberporth. A fast stretch on A487. 1st proper meal at Black Lion New Quay. Highlight: revisiting the St Dogmael's miller

Day 10: St David's to Newport 26 miles. Quiet roads mostly and a welcome tailwind. Persistent drizzle and poor visibility; line between grey sea and grey sky just discernible. Long lunch in a Fishguard cafe drying out. Highlight: toasted teacakes at Tregwynt Woollen Mill.

Day 9: Broad Haven to St David's 18 miles. Bright sun, the sea frequently visible. Vast sands of Newgale, sheltered harbour of Solva and time to wander round St David's before resuming route 4 to the hostel in a stunning location by a rocky outcrop. All better for Kate's company.
