Story
On 23rd may I went into premature labour at 25 weeks and 3 days. We gave birth to our daughter Poppy Hannah Townshend weighing 1lb 6oz, 13 inches long with long fingers and very big feet like her daddy and lots of blonde fluffy hair. I was taken down for an emergency Caesarian as my placenta was forward facing and blocked anyway out for my bubba, during this I lost almost 2 litres of blood and was in a critical condition with my baby in the same position. They resuscitated Poppy and took her straight to SCBU. I didn't know if she was alive or not. 2 hours after she was born I came to after the op. Dan smiled and said she's here she's ok... Each day was critical, she had low, low blood pressure, high heart rate, extremely high potassium, renal failure, she had a heamorage on her tiny lungs and a bleed on the brain. Our baby was struggling but she didn't give up until she met all her loving family. Her mummy, daddy, grandad, nana, two aunties, one uncle and lots of lovely nurses and dr's. On the 25th may unfortunately our baby lost her fight and she died in my arms. Her daddy saw her first breath and her mummy had her last. She has now joined her big sister Frances in heaven. We would love to be able to give something back to the amazing team at the Oliver Fisher Ward. The care they gave our daughter is unforgettable and amazing. For that we will be eternally grateful. Money doesn't buy you happiness but it can show appreciation and help. Many thanks everyone. With love from myself and Dan. X
