What’s a pangolin, and why do they need saving?

Pangolins are a truly remarkable group of mammals, which have lived on our planet for over 70 million years! There are 8 species of pangolin that and all are at great threat from extinction. Research suggests that pangolins are the most heavily trafficked wild mammal with 100,000 taken from the wild each year! That is more than rhinos, elephants and tigers combined and yet many people have not heard of their story. The main reason for their demise is that in South East Asia and China they are eaten as a delicacy and it is believed they have medical properties though this is not proven.

How can you help us?

We are a newly formed conservation non - profit organisation dedicated to supporting pangolin conservation projects across the globe and raising awareness of the dangers that are driving pangolins to extinction. We have currently formed partnerships with credible pangolin projects in Southern Africa and Vietnam and working towards projects in Sumatra and India.
