Story
Last night, St Joseph's Cub Scouts were working just outside the Church Hall, when three youths sneaked into the Hall and stole our money, leaving via the fire escape at the back!
We don't have much money to spend on our Cubs, so this theft is a real blow to our finances.
It was especially sickening and hurtful to our children, who started off the evening so excited and full of happiness as we were beginning a really interesting project, which they were all looking forward to.
Last night, we were outside the Hall planting rocket seeds which came from the International Space Station. This is an experiment which was launched by British Astronaut Tim Peake. The Cubs have been preparing for this for weeks. They arrived last night in a state of high excitement and we began the experiment amid much laughter and excitement.
Only to end the evening with children who were upset and hurt, struggling to understand why anyone would steal THEIR money ~ because really the money IS THEIRS.
Sadly the Police don't have much hope of catching the thieves, nor of returning our money ~ it's long gone! Unfortunately, the Church CCTV was not working last night.
We only lost around £75, but this page won't allow me to put anything less than £200 as the target. So, in reality, all we are looking for is to replace the £75 which was stolen. So many parents last night expressed the wish to help us replace the stolen money, so this seemed like the easiest way of going about it!
The most important people in all of this are our Cubs, and we are very grateful to all of their parents and families for the ongoing support and help we receive from them throughout the year.
On behalf of all of our children, I'd like to say a big thank you to anyone who is able to help.
