Story
This page is here to gather funds for Alan's funeral: the service, the ultimate debtor's ball, and the headstone [ for Alan & Natasha]. We also want to give some help to his partner Bev, who's caring for the animals Alan dearly loved and left behind.
While Alan's contributions to our lives and culture are sometimes overlooked, indeed overshadowed by others, the reality is he was instrumental in helping us all on our way, acting as a fundamental catalyst for the forging of innumerable significant relationships, collaborations and events that endure to the present and beyond.
We all owe Alan a huge debt of gratitude for his contribution to our lives, as well as the limitless generosity he demonstrated throughout his life. When Al had money, he shared it; when he had none, he wangled more, then shared that.
For all these things, we owe him. Alan invested his time, money and spirit in each of us. Now the time has come to pay him back, at least in part, for that investment

8 years agoDon't worry if you missed the funeral date, there's still time to repay Big Als kindness via a donation to his fund. It's no joke- these things really cost as much as we estimated. Let's not leave those who cared for Al with a huge debt to pay. Please give as much as you can so we can tie up all the loose ends his sudden departure resulted in Many many thanks to all for your kindness

8 years agoA beautiful , fitting end to this phase of Alan's journey today- morose initially but soon replaced by the serenity of the zen garden like vibe at Southern. This was followed by a wonderful afternoon where we all shared our memories of times with an old friend. Amazingly, even in death, Alan's influence gave birth to more embryonic encounters and I look forward to continuing several conversations that began today DONT FORGET-WE NEED TO PAY FOR THE FUNERAL (average cost 7 grand) EVEN IF YOU CANT DONATE, USE THE WEB TO TELL 3 PEOPLE ABOUT US!
