Story
In the early hours of Tuesday 12th May, fire ripped through Ballater’s historic railway station, destroying the visitor centre and the premises of three local businesses. While some items have been saved from the visitor centre which has now been relocated, the fire has torn the historic heart out of the village, as well as endangering a number of valuable jobs in this beautiful but remote community.
