    Story

Frome College is a vibrant community of 1,300 young people aged from 13 to 18 years of age. It is an exciting place, full of opportunity and development for every type of student. As part of this ethos, and with initial funding from Frome Town Council and support from FromeFM, a radio club was formed to bring the wealth of talent and creativity within the College to the wider community of Frome and beyond. It enables students to meet, work with, and get to know people within their community; and allows them to have a say in services that affect them. The radio club is open to all students, and provides valuable experience for future employment and education opportunities - as well as an awful lot of fun!
To continue, the club desperately needs to raise funds to train new members, and to buy secondhand equipment for a satellite studio at the College, so starting Saturday 30th April, Frome College are staging a ‘24hour takeover’ of FromeFM. This will be the first time a group of school aged children have broadcast live for a continuous 24hr period from a community radio station in the UK.

You can listen in to the broadcast from 12noon on Saturday 30th April locally on 96.6fm, online at frome.fm or you can download the free FromeFM smart phone app.

Your support is greatly needed and appreciated. THANK YOU
