    Story

Everybody takes video of family and events but most is just a personal record that is probably viewed half a dozen times and forgotten. We are living in a fast moving society where are lives are changing almost daily making yesterday unrecognisable and quickly a distant memory.

I make short films of 5-15 minutes long where ordinary people talk about and show their interest Using my interview technique I have found that most will open up and talk in a conversational relaxed manner almost immediately.

My aim is to continue the work I have been doing over the last 3 years and capturing events, hobbies and lifestyle that will be otherwise lost or stored on a laptop or smartphone, never to be seen again.

Working with students, graduates, unemployed and disabled people I want to record for the future and give new skills to those anxious to join this exciting venture. Anyone can pick up a smartphone and shoot - I aim to show them how to write scripts, organise a documentary, shoot and edit and present the finished films to the local community as well as having a world-wide internet platform.

I have been fortunate to have had the free loan of professional equipment but this is now withdrawn and I need my own to continue this work.

The benefits of this project are many:

    • A bank of short films showing life through the eyes of ordinary people
    • Voluntary opportunities for anyone wanting to be involved
    • Life skills including all aspects of film-making, working in a team, self-discipline, motivation, target setting
    • A social setting where all are welcome

I have been fortunate in having equipment available on free loan but this has now been withdrawn and I need my own to continue this exciting project. All sponsors will have a credit on at least one film. Give at least £100 and you will receive a personalised DVD of a selection of films. Your support will help the community.

To ensure that we can continue our film-making programme I'm launching a crowdfund-er today. Those of you who know me will appreciate the short documentaries I make about the community. I now need to find my own equipment to continue with this community project and the other film-making I do. Please support me, every ££ is appreciated and helps. My goal now is to make 100 short community documentaries that will reflect the way we live.

I love making short documentaries and share that by filming local people going about life. Encouraging others to get involved in the production side has given life and social skills, motivation and opportunities. See my bio at https://uk.linkedin.com/in/mikeleahymarketing
