Story
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone. Over 600 under-35s die each year in the UK including 270 children at school. 80% out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests occur at home. A defibrillator and effective CPR performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, increases survival rates from 6% to 74%.
At a recent demo by a local paramedic, we were fully re-assured about the safety and ease of use of a modern defibrillator (e.g. it won't deliver a shock unless one is needed). We think getting one is a no-brainer!
As well as setting up this page, we will also be running fundraising events in the parish. Come to the village hall on Saturday 26th for the first one where you'll also be able to see a defib demo.

8 years agoThanks so much to everyone who donated. With funds raised here, the Easter Saturday event in the village hall and some independent donations we've now raised enough money to buy a defibrillator and to have it installed. Coming soon to an outside wall near you!
