    Story

I was on a wildfire knowledge exchange with Calfire. I was there to acquire skills in wildland firefighting. Nobody could have foreseen that I would attend the 3rd most destructive fire in California's history. Four wildland firefighters were seriously injured. They all suffered first and second degree burns and one of them suffered third degree burns. These firefighters will all have physical and mental injuries that will take time to heal. Our support will help them along the road to recovery.

      Update from the Page owner

Thank you everybody for your donations. £632 is a great total and I will ensure that it is passed on directly to the four injured firefighters from Helitack 104. The photo here is of the crew taken on the morning of the incident. A group of professional, hard working wildland firefighters that didn't deserve this. The thoughts and best wishes of the UK are with Helitack 104 and we wish all of them a speedy recovery. Good luck for the future.

Thank you all very much for your support so far. Three of the four injured firefighters have now been released from hospital, but one remains seriously ill. Please share this with your contacts to see if we can push closer to the target. Thank you very much.
