David McLachlan, Gordon Knox, David Greer and Robert McBride are raising money for 2 amazing charities that without donations simply wouldn’t be able to continue to provide the support that they do to a large number of terminally ill people.

The 2 charities are Calum’s Cabin and Macmillan Cancer Support and the money raised will be split equally between both. The event will take place on Tuesday 19th July on the Isle Of Bute where all 4 of us grew up. The island has 3 golf courses (Kingarth, Port Bannatyne and Rothesay) and we plan to complete all of them (18 holes each) in that order in 1 day, "carrying the clubs" around the courses and also walking the distances between them "again carrying the clubs". The total distance will be 21 miles or 37,000 yards for the golfers amongst you. We will be starting at 5am and hopefully complete the task before last light at around 10pm.

Calum’s Cabin is a purpose built beautiful countryside retreat situated on the Isle of Bute. The “Isle of Bute Golf Marathon” will be a very long, hard task to complete in the race against the daylight and the physical aspect of the 21 miles being covered.
