After spending a week at The Refugee Community Kitchen - we (Jonny and Anna) were clear that we could do more. So we're trying to raise enough funds to allow us to volunteer in Calais long-term.

£6360 would pay for our accommodation and energy costs as well as giving us each £10 per day subsistence.

In Calais our work will range from chopping veg and washing up to managing a warehouse as donations come in and aid goes out. We've seen, first hand, the amazing things the organisations which are working together there have achieved. But there's so much more to do.

If you're one of the many amazing people who wish they could be there but can't leave their responsibilities at home - let us help on your behalf. Fund just one day of volunteering and you'll help to feed thousands of refugees.

Any questions you have, please don't hesitate to ask. And any suggestions of how we can raise these funds - throw them our way... no matter how silly.

If (we live in hope) the crisis is resolved or evolves in a way which does not allow us to continue - we will donate any remaining funds to RKC and MSF. We will, of course, keep you updated on our journey and news from the Calais, Dunkirk and other smaller camps we will be supporting.

Our proposed budget:

£2700 Accomodation costs*

*We hope to take our boat over the channel and live aboard in Calais. This should be the most cost effective (and nicest) way to be there long-term. This includes estimated costs for a skipper, dover moorings, services, diesel, vhf licence, safety equipment, heating, electricity and mooring fees.

£3660 - personal allowance of £10 per day each (estimate of 183 days minimum) to spend on food, drink, toiletries etc. etc.
