    Story

There are always those people within a community that stand out, people who go above and beyond to support others in every way they can. My friend Clive is one of those special people.

On paper, Clive Knowles is the owner of The British Ironworks Centre and Black Country Metalworks in Shropshire. But to everyone who knows him, he is so much more. The man behind now famous projects like Uri Gellers Spoon Gorilla and the Save A Life, Surrender Your Knife Campaigns Knife Angel, is also the man behind the success and progress of many small businesses and individuals you have never heard of.

His constant support in the community is nothing short of remarkable, so when I heard that Clive had been taken ill, I started to think about a way to continue raising money in his name, while he took some down time to recover.

I knew that I couldn't just organise a concert or a bake sale, this is for Clive! And Clive is a mad genius! So I knew I had to come up with something epic, something that would challenge all involved and accomplish a task that has never been attempted before.

We are going to take one of Clive's iron sculptures, to the summit of Snowdon... on foot. The sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex weighing just shy of 200kgs will be carried piece by piece to the summit, and reassembled for all to see.

The dinosaurs are coming back to Wales.

The money raised will be held by Oswestry Cambrian Rotary, and then presented to the charity of Clive's choosing following the completion of the monumental task.

Teams from Fusion Arts Oswestry, Team Elite Martial Arts and Crossfit Oswestry will join together on Sunday 21st August (weather allowing) and climb the 1085 meters to the summit.

    Operation Snowdon, is go!
