Story
I'm raising money for UK German Shepherd Rescue, not only to raise awareness of this fantastic charity, but also because small breed-specific charities like UK-GSR don't always get the recognition that they deserve.
Volunteers give so much to support the charity, whilst having full time jobs and families to look after like the rest of us. They step in when dogs need help, either because they haven't had the greatest start in life, they've been abused, used as bait, thrown out as strays through no fault of their own, or just find themselves in rescue through their owner passing away or other circumstances.
These dogs are brought into the safety of GSR's kennels, which causes the main expense to the Rescue, where they are cared for, fed, loved and kept healthy until they find a "furever" home. The Rescue also covers any vet's bills that arise whilst the dog is in their care.
The German Shepherd breed is close to my heart. I had one for 14 years and my sister has also adopted one from the Rescue. The German Shepherd breed does a fantastic job for the police, military and other various public services. The Rescue do a great job attending various dog events across the country, changing people's perception of the breed as often people think that they're simply a guard or attack dog and not suitable as a family pet, which couldn't be further from the truth.
Please donate what you can as every penny will help. Thanks you so much in advance for supporting me in my 3 Peaks Challenge and for supporting UK German Shepherd Rescue.

On the 17th June, I'm climbing the 3 Yorkshire Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent in less than 12 hours for UK German Shepherd Rescue. It's a distance of 25 miles and 1,600m of ascent - a marathon in the mountains!
