Story
When Ronja suddenly became ill she was left unable to breastfeed her 10 month old son Rio due to the strong medication she was given. Without milk Rio would of become dehydrated and potentially ill himself. Rio does not take a bottle so donor milk wasn't an option. In desperation Ronja turned to a Facebook community of Breastfeeding Mummies and posted a plea for someone to wet nurse her baby.
Within minutes local Mums got in touch and very rapidly hundreds of ladies offered support and concern. Rio has gone on to be nursed by a number of amazing ladies, whilst they simultaneously looked after their own children. They have stepped in to help a complete strange and her family in their time of need, doing what comes naturally to them; nurturing, caring and nursing.
They have been using their own transport to get Rio to and from the hospital to be with Ronja and also to transfer him between wet nurses. This has obviously incurred costs to them, as well as them kindly providing nappies, food, etc. All money will go to covering the expenses of these amazing women.
This is the ultimate show of care and compassion from one mother to another. Good samaritans at their very best.
If you feel able to donate please do so.
Thank you. X
