Story
In June of 2016, a group of senior pupils and staff from St. Andrew’s Academy will travel to Kigumba, in the Hoima district of Uganda, where we will stay for two weeks in order to build links between the schools. During this time the we will assist local tradesmen in the construction of a new classroom for the children of Blessed Comboni School. Throughout this school year, the students and staff of St. Andrew’s Academy must raise the £55,000 total cost of the project.
St. Andrew’s Academy aims to further the educational opportunities for young people in Uganda. Our aim is that the project team will help to provide long term educational opportunities, as well as forging international links.
When I return from the trip I will be able to provide photos of the construction of the school.
Each participant chosen to represent St Andrew’s Academy in Uganda must raise a minimum of £2200 which will cover the costs of flights and inoculations as well as pay for the construction work and materials sourced locally in Uganda.
