Simon Cock, Simo to his friends, has been my best friend and love of my life since we met 3 years ago. Simo and I encouraged each other to follow our dreams which left us living at opposite sides of the world, it was never easy but we both knew it was right and never said goodbye, simply "see you soon".

Simo had just made progress on his dream, qualifying as a PADI Dive Instructor in Koh Tao, his beautiful home, when he was struck down by a brain heamorage. Heartbreakingly, not just for me but for ever single person who has ever met him, he is currently sedated and ventilated in Koh Samui. His sister and parents have flown from Adelaide to be by his side, unfortunately the estimated costs for getting Simo back home with them is $85,000 (approximately £45,345) and the insurance only covers $20,000 (£10,669). Friends in Australia have set up their own fundraising page and are organising a fundraising evening. A very close friend of Simo's in doing a skydive in Dubai, and I feel so helpless being so far away from Simo, his family and friends.

I have decided that, to help raise funds required to not only get Simo home comfortably but continue his care and any other costs that may arise, I will be shaving my head. In the first week we knew each other, I got to shave Simo's head and remember us both giggling the whole time, I'd like to think he'd giggle at this too.

ALL the money I raise will go straight to Simo's family.
