Weʼve raised £870 to support an educational fund we set up 3yrs ago for twin girls living in Sri Lanka, who we want to see succeed in life.

    Story

    Meet Nethmi & Kaushi
Twin sisters whose living conditions were dire, in a remote village in Sri Lanka and whose young parents struggled to meet their daily needs. For the last three years we have been sending money each month to help towards daily essentials.

We set up the RuRi Fund three years ago and have been supporting these two little girls who live polar opposite lives to our own twin daughters.

We have collected an amount which supports their daily needs but this is not enough...

It is our hope that over the years we will be able to collect a substantial amount for educational purposes for when these two little girls grow older and want to pursue a career. We want to help give these two girls wings to let them fly high and achieve the same as what we would wish for our own girls.

With recent political and economic uncertainties we are now facing, wondering how it will affect my own childrens future I came to one resolution:

No matter which path our future takes, we will still live relatively decent lives & our children will still go to school. They will still have access to healthcare. There is still opportunity and choice. We have so much more than what we want and so much that we can still give.

Bear in mind, that if you donate it will be for a long term cause. You will see regular posts as they grow but the real result will be when they gain their qualifications & set up on their own.

I'm shaving my head in one month and kindly ask that you donate with the knowledge that for now:

    1. I will donate the hair to make wigs for children suffering with cancer (Little
Princesses Trust), bringing a smile which will go a long long way towards their wellbeing & happiness.
    2. I will raise money for RuRi Education Fund.
    3. My hair will grow back.
    4. You will feel wonderful.

Whatever LITTLE will mean a LOT to us & the kids.
Thank you from the bottom of my follicles. 😘

So the appointment has been booked for the charity head shave. 31st July 330pm. Just after spending some time with the monks from London Buddhist Vihara, for the annual Dana & alms giving. Looking forward to knowing how those monks must feel!
