    Story

Spindog’s Ltd are supporting a little girl called Ellie as her family raises the £45,000 needed for her to have a life changing operation and subsequent therapy.

Spindog’s Ltd are supporting a little girl called Ellie, who you may have heard us talk about as she is the granddaughter of our super head of finance Paula , and she needs our help as her family raises the £45,000 needed for her to have a life changing operation and subsequent therapy.

Ellie is a 6 year old girl who has cerebral palsy, which makes her legs stiff and painful.  She is only able to walk short distances and otherwise uses a wheelchair.  She struggles with stairs and has poor balance which means she falls over often. After the operation Ellie is looking forward to being able to play with her friends easier and keep up with their games.

Ellie's NHS consultant has recommended that Ellie has an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy but unfortunately this operation is not available on the NHS.  Ellie will therefore have this operation in St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri, America.

Following the operation Ellie's legs will no longer be painful and stiff.  She will have to work hard at her therapy but the Neurosurgeon, Dr Park, has told Ellie's family that the pain and stiffness in her legs will be permanently reduced.  She will be able to walk steadily on all terrains with endurance.  She will have better balance and will be able to play with her friends easier.  She will have better posture and be able to transition between sitting and standing  easier. Ellie will also find it much easier to sleep at night as she will no longer have discomfort in her legs.

We are very grateful for your donations.
