Since the start of our community Kitchen One Spirit Ashram, we have been through thick and thin.
Our Big kitchen was sadly part of the South camp in the Jungle which meant a lot of hard work downsizing and moving to the North Camp during the evictions, nevertheless we continued to serve hot meals everyday.
After 6 successful weeks as the new Little Ashram Kitchen with chai, coffee, spicey eggs and mayhem, there was an incident last Friday evening that meant the Ashram was burnt to the ground.

The residents of the camps' reaction has blown us away these last few days, reconfirming for us all why this kitchen is so important, not just feeding hungry bellies but providing a safe, warm space to just relax and drink a cup of tea.

So..... get ready for the Ashram Cafe Third Time Lucky hitting the Jungle very soon! We have already erected our kitchen tent, are serving tea and are waiting on a yurt to be delivered! The spirit of the place is not contained in a piece of plastic, we go on into a new and exciting time.

We need donations now more than ever, we estimate that 1500 will get us up and running as quickly as possible, It will mean we can make the cafe as lovely as Ashram has always been and get the hobs alight to serve more delicious chai, spicey eggs and lunch every day!
