    Story

Cycling is a great way of staying healthy and reducing traffic congestion. Many people living and working between Cambridge and Royston would cycle if conditions were safe. Some high quality cycle path is being built between Melbourn and Harston, but the Melbourn-Royston stretch remains a rough walking track, and the A10/A505 roundabout is busy and dangerous. We want to show Local, Regional and National Government and local businesses that we local residents are prepared to do our bit to help.

      Update from the Page owner

Wow, what a turnout for our Santa Cycle! Many thanks to you all for cycling, cheering, and of course for contributing to our campaign. It was even more successful than we had hoped, and shows what a strong support there is for better cycle links locally. Thank you all. We plan a new a10 Corridor Cycle campaign in the New Year, which will be announced on the http://a10corridorcycle.com/ web site, so keep an eye out. Meanwhile, keep those e-mails and letters of support coming it, to show that people in Melbourn, Royston, and all the villages up to Cambridge really want better cycle facilities, keep pedalling, and - Happy Christmas!

This path will keep vulnerable cyclists safe and motorists relieved to have more room on a comparatively narrow road so everybody will benefit.

Would be great to finally have a safe cycle route out of Royston towards Cambridge. A10 is too dangerous to cycle on with all the fast traffic.

I've just loaned a cycle friend from Royston my new Bike Box for his holiday. He wanted to give me this money, but I didn't really want to take it, so I've donated this to your very worthwhile fund..!
