I’m the Chief Executive of Colchester Borough Council and I’ll be sliding down a 250m inflatable waterslide on North Hill Colchester.

I’m raising money for a few charities, 50% will go to Cancer Research UK (who are hosting the slide event) and 50% will be equally split between the six charities chosen by the Mayor of Colchester, Teresa Higgins - Colchester YMCA, Colchester Sea Cadets, Colchester Phoenix Swimming Club, Stepping Stones Play and learn Nursery, Colchester and Tendring Deaf Children's Society and Nurture Dogs.

Raising money for charity is all about doing something out of the ordinary, and believe me when I say I never thought I would be sliding down North Hill as part of my role as Chief Executive. I’m not sure I’m looking forward to it exactly, but what a great chance to raise some money for CRUK and the Mayor’s charities.
