Story
Having just returned from my second trip to Greece volunteering at the Cherso refugee camp I have decided to focus my energy in raising fund for getting as many families into housing and integrating them into Greek communities. The conditions of the camp are unbearable, the rising heat at the moment, the lack of food and tension within the camp is rising. At the moment I am raising funds for 3 specific families as I have become very close to them and I have to start somewhere. For the 3 houses, rent, bills and food they will need about about 500-600euros per house per month. Eventually they will be able to get work to help towards this and/or move onto wherever country they are heading to. I will confirm the exact amount when I receive more information from my Greek colleague from the housing project. Once I have raised the money for them i will be working in association with several groups of people around Europe to continue to find and provide housing for more families and people from cherso camp in Greece. I will update information as I get it. I have never done anything like this before so am a bit overwhelmed and all over the place with how to go about this but I am learning in the process. I hope to start my own non profit organisation soon as a permanent platform to raise money for this cause. Thank you for you help.
