    Story

The Good Chance theatre was set up in the Jungle refugee camp in Calais by two playwrights, Joe Robertson and Joe Murphy, on October 29th 2015 and ran for seven months before it was shut down by the authorities.

Whilst open, it provided a safe, warm and welcoming space for people to express themselves and their situation; delivering a full programme of theatre, art and music, including residencies by visiting companies from around the world.

It was an atmosphere characterised by hope, possibility and acceptance because it was a theatre built on the principle of freedom of expression, dignity and the belief that our differences are to be celebrated.

On Monday 4th July, with friends from all over the world, we will present 'A Night of Hope': a celebration of our work and of each other. In doing so, we hope to raise money to return our theatre to the Jungle refugee camp in Calais and continue to expand our work elsewhere. To spread our message that everyone, no matter what their situation, deserves a Good Chance.
