Friends from FOOTBALL........
In 1995 I met my best mate. This meeting was because of FOOTBALL and nothing else. We instantly bonded and we have remained very close to this day. I was his 'Best Man' and he gave me the honour of being God Father to his children.
My eldest God daughter, Bethaney Magen Patterson suffers from a serious condition called Mitochondrial Disease, and due to this condition, her ability to walk is extremely limited and therefore is dependent on a wheelchair.
The family have been forced into making major adjustments to their home in order to make her life more comfortable. The biggest expense in these adjustments is the installation of a stairlift, and from the plans I've seen its more like an elevator.
As God father, I must help.
So I asked my new friends in FOOTBALL if they could help their coach help his 'Best Mate' because of FOOTBALL in raising some money for this.
My idea, proposed to my new friends in FOOTBALL, Waldridge Park JFC Thropton, which consists of 5 & 6 year olds, was to do a sponsored 5K run.
They have all agreed, displaying they have a heart the size of a frying pan! Not an easy task for someone of their age!
