Many people in the camp have been there for a while. They are keen to develop their skills - they don't want to have to rely on others to support them. We asked our contact at the school what was most needed - and the answer was english books.

Hey guys - the books have made it to the Jungle School in Calais! While Zach and I ended up not going this time, the fantastic resources that we bought with your donations were taken by our amazing friend Flor White and the Compassion for Calais group. This morning I've been sent some wonderful photographs that really put the whole situation into perspective. Your wonderful contributions have really made a difference - whether you gave money that we spent on bilingual books or donated pencils, paper or books. When Zach first suggested this project I had no idea what could be achieved. Thank you so much for giving. Zach and Bex x

I am an author & a teacher. My 15 year old son came home from school last month & told me that we couldn't keep ignoring the situation in Calais. He is the reason I stopped making sympathetic noises whenever I read the news and started trying to do something, no matter how small.
