Weʼve raised £2,535 to Build Kennel Block for retired Police Dogs

    Melton Mowbray, United Kingdom
Funded on Monday, 1st February 2016

    Story

Bravo Working Dog Rescue started in 2012 to help retired Police and Military dogs into pet retirement homes. We are the only UK rescue doing this work. A promised kennel block turned out to be not fit for purpose, 18 months of negotiating that turned out to be false hope has put us in jeopardy and we are closing in the New Year if we can't recover from this. These dogs keep your world safe and deserve safe retirement.

In order to be able to continue some rescue, I intend to close this fund in a few days. We should be able to do the bit of drainage and have at least a double kennel unit and possibly a third if we can pay for transport to collect a donated one. Thank you so much

Thank you all who are helping. We'll be recirculating as things have slowed a little. Half way through with 22 days to go is brilliant.

I'd like to thank two Dog Handlers who have helped hands on with our work for several years. One is sadly in hospital long term after a terrible accident. Thanks to the handlers who sent personal messages too.

I cannot believe that after serving the force so faithfully these precious dogs are being discarded so callously.

I'm shocked that this service is required, well done for your efforts, shame on the police forces for not contributing to this fund!

I have worked in training, behaviour and rescue for over 30 years. Bravo has existed since 2012 in response to the increasing numbers of Police dogs being sold or put down in retirement. I feel strongly they deserve more. The long awaited kennelling was a false promise.
