I've known this family for 5 years. Both brothers have muscular dystrophy and live in a remote village. In 2011, we got them a proper diagnosis and this was the first legitimate Doctor they had seen. In 2013, we brought a wheelchair. Largely, not much can be done from a medical perspective. However, a physiotherapist or occupational therapist could limit the deformity and pain caused by the degenerative paralysis and provide advice to improve life & make mothers care interventions less physical.
