On the 4th June, Brad Watson, Alisha Edwards, Martin Jones, Adam Gauci & Steven Davey who are colleagues at constructaquote.com in Caerphilly will be undertaking the Welsh Three Peaks challenge.

Starting at 4am the team will first scale Snowdon, then drive to the mighty Cadair Idris before finishing on Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons.

The challenge will involve hiking over 20 miles and ascending over 9,000 ft in 15 hours

The charities are close to both Alisha & Brad;

Alisha:

My little boy (Logan) was born in February 2011 with Gastroschisis. If you’re not familiar with the condition it is a birth defect of the abdominal wall leading to the child's intestines protruding outside of their body, through a hole beside the belly button. We were made aware of this 20 weeks into the pregnancy and I was under close observation for the rest of my pregnancy. When Logan was born, due to his condition, he required immediate surgery and came under the care of the N.I.C.U. & Noah’s Ark at the Heath hospital. The support provided to us as a family through this difficult time was incredible, I struggle to imagine how we’d have coped if not for the care provided by Noah’s Ark and N.I.C.U.

Brad:

Brad’s son Archie also spent time being cared for by Noah’s Ark and his family were supported by the CATS Foundation when he was diagnosed with Tay Sachs Disease. The charity were able to provide equipment, offer invaluable advice and arrange days out for the family. Archie was diagnosed with the disease at 15 months but sadly passed away 14 months later in 2013 and the charity still continue to provide support to Brad’s family. Brad is also a Family Ambassador for CATS and represents the charity to raise awareness.
