    Story

The shocking scenes at Reading last Saturday, during which one of our club's greatest servants was assaulted by a thug in our own ranks, made headline news. The fallout has tarnished the reputation of our supporters and, by association, the proud name of West Bromwich Albion FC.

On behalf of decent Baggies everywhere we've chosen to organise this flag as a display of solidarity, and to help send a message of support to Chris Brunt and the team during Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace.

Great game, great win, great atmosphere. The only fly in the ointment was Brunty's injury, which sounds like it could be a nasty one. Hopefully he'll be back in action soon.

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and warm wishes at yesterday's game. The Fanzone was great fun and it was nice to speak with some of you who made contributions. We hope you were pleased with the flag.

We did our best to generate as much exposure as possible on the day and it was picked up by national and regional media. Hopefully we played a small part in projecting a positive image of the club and showing Chris how much we appreciate his loyalty and commitment over the years.

This is a token gesture to convey to Chris Brunt and every single member of the team that you are deeply appreciated by the overwhelming majority of Albion supporters....whether we win, lose or draw!
