Weʼve raised £145 to buy new, basic underwear, for those living in the refugee camps of Calais/Dunkirk - such a simple necessity that they do not have enough of.

Story
Knickers, pants, undies, boxers, smalls...whatever you want to call them, most people wear them...but not all people can (or want to) talk about them!
While it may seem frivolous to buy underwear, it really is not!!! This is in fact something that is very much needed and has been requested by the volunteers on the ground who are handing out clothing to the refugees.
Refugees are arriving in camp with the bare minimum - they have had to leave their homes quickly, bringing with them only what they can carry. That, combined with a lack of washing facilities and living within the camp, makes it very difficult to keep everything as clean as they would like.
We have already managed to send 437 pairs of pants, 90 pairs of socks, 29 pairs of woolly tights and 48 emergency food bags over to the Calais Jungle Warehouse and these have been handed out... I am now trying to raise a further £300 minimally, so that together we can buy another 300 pairs of new pants (both mens & womens), which will be sent over and distributed as soon as possible - this would take us over the 700 pairs mark in total.
Underwear is such a basic... a bare necessity you could say!!! Thank you for all contributions towards this project!

I am a mum of 3... Like many others out there, knowing now what the overall conditions of the French refugee camps are like made me want to DO something to at least help with the immediate health & comfort of those living there.
