Tomorrow morning (10th February) the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service choir fly to New York. We'll be visiting the 9/11 Memorial Museum and afterwards going on to 'Ladder 10', the fire station closest to Ground Zero, to meet our New York Fire Department counterparts, offering our friendship and solidarity. On Monday 15th February we are performing Paul Mealor's 'Stabat Mater' in a special celebratory concert at Carnegie Hall, with orchestra and massed choir. The following day, Tuesday 16th, we return to Ground Zero to sing 'The Rising', our tribute to the firefighters who died on September 11, 2001. Thank you so much for helping us to make this trip a reality - we are so honoured to have this opportunity and humbled by your support and generosity in helping us to get there. 830m ladder climb successfully completed! The weather was very bad yesterday so we pitched the ladder to a height of 7m and made the climb 120 times. Many thanks to everyone who has sponsored/donated - it's hugely appreciated by me and all of the choir!
