Thank you all for your donations. I took 20 rolls of insulation, screws and tools for use on the shelters I helped to construct. The picture shows the temporary workshop in an old warehouse producing basic flat-pack shelters to be built in the Jungle. It was great to be able to help out, but harrowing to see the appalling conditions that the camp residents have to put up with. There is little "official" aid in the camp (MSF is an exception), so the burden falls to individuals and small groups to help however they can. Winter brings cold and bad weather, and things are grim. I am returning to Calais in early December with my partner Ceri. You have already been so generous, but I am fundraising again.
