Thought long and hard about trying to raise some sponsorship this way but I DO feel strongly about both my club and the Children's Hospice. I've lost family to cancer very recently and I've seen at first hand the work people do within the hospice to make life easier for patients and family alike. Angels from heaven in my opinion and my club have made a promise to the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice to raise £10000 this year for them.
My club, Naomh Seamas CLG, have been working tirelessly with our youth in our community with limited resources. Our aim is to not only coach our kids in the finer skills of football but to hopefully develop them as good, upstanding, well-balanced individuals and help prepare them for adult life. Our current situation means that funding for the required resources has to come from fundraisers like "The Loop of the Lough".
What am I doing then? Well, I'm cycling around Lough Neagh on 9 July 2016, a total of 78miles. I've been in training now for 5 weeks and am on course for the big day which is fast approaching.
How can you help? I'll not beat about the bush!!!! Give what you can, if you can. I've been set a modest target of £300. Help me get there for the Hospice and my club!
