Simply a memorable and emotional day, brightening Ed's life! Thanking Lynsey and Giedre, and each one of the so many (ex)colleagues, bosses, friends, contractors, bar tenders, venue providers, catering, IT, etc. for making this happen! The freezing conditions have been surpassed by the torrid warmth of wonderful hearts of beautiful human beings present in Ed's life. 💗💗💗

26/03/2022 - Dearest Protector Angels of Edgar, I just wanted to give you updates: after his latest admission, he continues to recover well. Everyday obstacles are tackled as they come, however, despite all odds, he is fighting like a true Latvian Lion! He is getting stronger, regaining some lost weight (almost 20 kg): must be my cooking, although I have to confess that this is one of my personal trials! Also, he is surprising me, now and again, with pronounced words out of the blue, like "ginger" (he was enjoying ginger tea). We are looking forward to watch the football match organised by the lovely Platinum Team. May all of you enjoy the hope brought by the recent sunshine. 🙏💗🤍💗

21/03/2022 - Rivers of thanks for Platinum - Edgar's UK Family and all supporters who have lit his highway on this perilous odyssey, both morally and materially. Edgar has returned from Hospital and is in recovery. He is doing well and I trust that he continues on this path. Please keep sending him love and encouragements messages. Wishing all a safe, prosperous and healthy week. 💙💛

04/03/2022 - It may sound trivial, whilst the global tragic scene is unfolding under our eyes (which Edgar is following daily), however I would like to deeply thank to all who have made today a better day for Edd; air mattress, legs air compression device, batch chair, bed side table, food prepared by Tasha, etc. Please enjoy below the self explanatory smile after Edgar's first bath in almost 20 weeks... 🙏🙏🙏

27th of February 2022 - Day 5 at Home: Enjoying simple things in life and resting. Trapped in a world without words, Edgar is voicing his will, teaching patience, showing courage and determination, gratefulness, holding each other's hands. He needs no vocalisation! His whole being stems energy and hope! 🤍💗🤍

Today the 17th of February 2022, it has been an emotional day of Edgar smiling, when lovely Izzy, his December ‘21 Speech and Language Therapist Nurse, stopped by to say hello/goodbye to Edgar. Edd still got it: intact, unique and impeccable charm and manners! 💖

"ED, Go Home!” Gift Aid Plea

Here I am, Folks! I need your help, please… to go HOME!

On the morning of 17th of November 2021, my life as I knew it completely changed and the Universe mapped a new journey for me, when I suffered a debilitating stroke! After a life-saving craniectomy, I have been in hospital ever since - literally fighting for my life. The stroke may have deprived myself of basic bodily abilities to be the independent person I have always been, however, it has not taken away my fighting spirit and passion to live!!!

I am still Edgar, Edgar Mac. And I will battle for life with all I have!

My distant dream was to get a boat and sail the world, set up a beach house and have friends around and spend the evenings reminiscing about life. I do not have the boat (well, not yet!) but I do have a house near the beach, in the sunny Southend-on-Sea. And, as I have always welcomed challenges and impossible missions, just to prove that they are possible, you would easily guess that my house project by the sea is another one of these endeavours!

I stripped the house to the bone in order to rebuild it and make it a home. I was in the process of this when, first of all, I underwent laparoscopic surgery in December 2020 due to an IG haemorrhage. But I made it through - The Show Must Go On! So, I continued a relatively a normal life, working and slowly making progress on the house. However, our fate is at the mercy of the Grand Plan and the stroke I suffered is proving to be the ultimate challenge! My priorities have now changed, and the house on the beach, the boat and other dreams have been replaced by my immediate survival needs.

I am currently living the glamorous hospital life and slowly, but surely, I am making progress and concentrating on re-establishing my independence through physiotherapy. I am working on the premise that one day I will make it home! To my own Forever Home…

I am really a London man, having moved to the UK 20 years ago. I moved to Southend-on-Sea to be with the lovely LiLi, my partner, whom I met 9 years ago, while she was swimming in the sea with her husky, a dog that later became my little four-legged mate (the things I have shared with him stay between us!).

As LiLi would say, I have spent my life working hard, helping and supporting others, packing a lot into my 42 years! I did it, and I will do it again. I have had faith in you all, and all I ask of you is to have faith in me now, and perhaps restore a certain degree of my autonomy.

Comprehending me, I am relaying my thoughts through LiLi. I am writing to you to help my inner Lion get back on the hunting game. I may be injured: however, I am still daring to hunt!

I am reaching to anyone with a sensitive heart to enable Edgar with a dignified and respectful standard of living. This involves in offering and unleashing your ideas and skills (electrical, plumbing, plastering, carpentry, muscles, etc.), spare materials or finance, in order to rebuild his house to accommodate the new challenges he will face every day, giving him the best possible chance to lead a normal life. (The house is currently just a shell in need of electricity, heating, plastering, floors, ceilings, kitchen, bathroom.)

Edgar is the most genuine and emphatic person I have ever met - from sharing his breakfast in the morning with the unfortunate people on the streets of London, to helping and supporting family, friends, and colleagues. Edgar has always taken the approach of only speaking positively about people, helping without any personal gain, always taking the time to listen and be there for anyone, many times to the detriment of his own personal difficulties. Even when his own life has been hanging by a thread when previously hospitalised, he has not ever complained and stayed positive and hopeful .

I know that this appeal would never be on his agenda. However, I also know that, through his private and professional life, he has touched and moulded the lives of so many fellows, who are now so eager to help him. I have once again learned another priceless lesson from Edgar: the art of just being a wonderful human being with a big heart and soul!

I am genuinely overwhelmed to tears by so many warm and encouraging messages, by the eagerness of so many colleagues, friends and professional contacts who are even now by Edgar’s side. I know that with our joint effort we will be able to get Edgar back on the right track. I have been every day by his side, along this new chapter of his life, supporting him emotionally and physically. Words are escaping me for how to thank ALL for the monumental support.

As Edgar would say: “Don’t try, just do it! Impossible is made of “I’m Possible!” Therefore, I am humbly asking for your HELP, not on behalf of Edgar, but FOR him. Together, and through God's grace, we can do it!
