    Story

The new EU Digital VAT rules from January 1st 2015 mean that businesses selling digital products via the internet now have to charge VAT based on where the customer is located, rather than the business. But micro businesses cannot handle the complexity of these rules, which require you to collect data you don't have access to, to select the correct VAT rate from over 80 and then to keep the data safely (NOT on your laptop in your kitchen) for 10 years.

VATMESS is a grotesquely disproportionate stealth tax on microbusinesses. Thanks for all your hard work campaigning on this.

We are a small group of committed volunteers who have led this campaign since November 2014. The progress we have made has been described as 'unprecedented' - and we need to make the final push in September in Dublin to get this mess fixed for the millions of affected micro biz.
