    Story

Séanín Smith from Belleeks Co.Armagh, has suffered dramatically, with her life now barely recognisable and she needs your help to regain her quality of life!

For 4 years Séanín's family sat at her bedside, through every hospitalisation, not knowing whether she'd make it out of each seizure she took, not knowing if she'd walk or talk again after each stroke and TIA she had, feeling completely helpless as they sat and watched Séanín's health deteriorate, and all the time not getting any answers from the doctors here.

Many people ask about Séanín regularly, with some commenting on how great she looks and how well she is doing not realising the difficulties she faces on a daily basis.EDS,Chiari Malformation,Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome(POTS),Macular Degeneration, Autonomic Dysfunction and Mast Cell Activation Disorder are some of the invisible illnesses which cause Séanín a multitude of struggles but she never struggles to put a smile on her face!

Séanín is lucky if she gets out for tea with her friends once a month, this isn't a life anyone especially someone of her age wants. To do any of these simple things is a struggle for her which usually means pushing her body and having to deal with the consequences that follow but for that small bit of normality in her life Séanín accepts everything that comes her way.

Recently, Séanín was diagnosed with Cranial Instability and has since has lost an inch in height as her skull has sunk downward onto her spine. Her other health problems have therefore dramatically worsened. She needs surgery before things get worse! After months of research and communications,Séanín has just received great news,Dr. Henderson(one of the top neurosurgeons in the world)wants to see Séanín in Maryland for extensive testing and investigations.

So we, her family and friends, are urging people to show support and would very much appreciate it if you could donate whatever you can afford to improve Séanín's quality of life.Thank you!
