    Story

Ladies who have had a cancer diagnosis feel shut away. They lose friends and confidence. Family members do not know how to cope with the diagnosis. Facing the loss of part of your body is one of the hardest things to cope with.

To help build confidence swimming sessions are offered at Short Wood Pool in an all female environment to encourage ladies to meet others in a similar situation and in time encourage them to socialise outside of the swimming sessions.

This is a very friendly group and we are keen to encourage ladies to face the world again instead of them feel isolated and shut away.

Our message is "One Day You Will Be Able To Face The World".

Our twitter message is "Ladies who are feeling shut away we can help you face the world one day.

We will be fundraising by undertaking Lands End to John O'Groats in our swimming sessions commencing the first week of June and aim to finish the challenge in November. The pool we will be using is 16m in length. We are fortunate to have the support of our wonderful female lifeguards who each week will be marking off our progress.

Thank you for reading our story and for all the help and support you give to this worthwhile community project.
