Story
This is Paul with his wee companion Roxy you may have seen them on your travels down Kirkcaldy high street
Now to my mind Paul is a gentleman who has fallen on hard times his wee dog Roxy is always by his side & the two of them have become everyone's favourite & stop to chat & give Paul a cuppa & Roxy a cake or biscuits
But it is with sadness I have to say Roxy has become unwell,
vets say her spleen is enlarged & although they could remove her spleen it is the spots on her liver they are worried about, the word big c has been mentioned so at most Paul has been told our wee Roxy could only have a few weeks left with Paul before he has to take that painful decision to have her put to sleep ,with this in mind & to save Paul any more worry I have set up a just giving page to help when that time comes ,any money donated will be used to ease Roxy into her final journey & will be paid straight to the vet & any monies left over will be donated to an animal charity probably 2nd chance kennels in Thornton who do so much good work for stray/unwanted dogs , so please even if it's just 50p every little bit will help Roxy on her final journey.
UP DATE UP DATE UP DATE UP DATE UP DATE.
It has been brought to my attention that Paul is not homeless ,therefore COULD have applied for help from the PDSA but this IS hearsay as is all the accusations made against him ,Paul told me about his wee Roxy being so ill and what the vet said so through my own fault of assuming he was homeless I offered to set up a go fund me page to HELP ROXY, not to give money to Paul all money will still go the the vet and any left over will be donated to an animal charity YES I am a do gooder I do like to help people but then any caring person would ,anyone wishing to with draw their donation please contact me .

8 years agoAt last the just giving money is in the bank and after all the deductions and Roxy's vet bill there is roughly £800 to donate to Second Chance Kennels in Thornton ,I thank you all so much for your kind donations and Paul does too and is pleased that some good has come out of Roxy's circumstances,he is still being asked on a daily basis where his wee pal is (such a shame) but he is handling it as best he can ,keep a look out in the local paper for the cheque handover which is being organised for asap again thank you all god bless and R,I,P Roxy

8 years agoIt is with great sadness I have to say that Roxy had to be put to sleep this evening.I took Paul & Roxy to Alba vet in Kirkcaldy where it was established as she had stopped eating that the kindest thing would be to put her to sleep I was with her & Paul when she slipped peacefully away obviously Paul is upset at loosing his little friend so please give him his time to grieve and also no negative comments at this time.I wish to thank Alba vets for being kind enough to let me pay heir invoice when the money clears in the just giving account ,

8 years agoNothing more can be done for Roxy just to make that clear ,a procedure can be carried out to buy her a little extra time but the pain and recovery from it would not justify putting her through it ,so its is just a waiting game now and making sure a vet has been paid so when the time comes Roxy can go to sleep peacefully and not in pain .

Will miss seeing Roxy's cheeky wee face, but none of us would like to see her in pain. She knows everyone who gives her treats and has had a happy life with constant companionship, unlike some dogs.

Sending supportive thoughts to Paul, and loving hugs to Roxy. My husband and I make time to say "hello" to them both whenever we can. It's clear how special Roxy is to Paul, and every little helps.

My grandson and I regularly stop for a chat to Paul and Roxy and have done since almost day one. She is a lovely wee dog and always gets a treat from us. I pray something can be done for her xxx

My name is Grace and it broke my heart to see Paul so sad worrying what is going to happen to Roxy when her time comes. The two of them make my shopping trip anytime I'm down the town ,lets give something back and show Paul people are not just full of empty words that we do care
