    Story

My 8yr old daughter is wheelchair bound. I long to watch her & her friends access the playareas within public parks, not just sit watching on as other children play. Our playgrounds lack the play equipment needed by children with complex needs, especially wheelchair users. There is also very little for children with sensory impairments & learning disabilities. This leaves families feeling isolated & excluded from their community. There are only 'disabled only' playgroups which keep us segregated

      Update from the Page owner

I would like to thank all of you dearly for donating and/or sharing my crowdfunding page. Thanks to your kindness and generosity I have raised £2,928 via the page and the rest via donations from other supportive individuals and organisations. H&F Parks Department will match the amount I raised, so the £14,000 will be used to purchase the wheelchair accessible swing, and it will be unveiled at the grand opening of the newly refurbished Wormholt Park, White City, London in the Spring. It will be the first fully accessible playground within a H&F public park that is fully accessible to children with all disabilities, as it will included various pieces of accessible play equipment and sensory features. I will of course update you once a date is confirmed for the opening. Many many thanks for helping g to make our public parks inclusive to disabled children x

My daughter & the many disabled children out there is why I started this project. After years of visiting our local parks, I felt sad that my daughter could only watch on as other children played & made friendships together within the playareas. Disabled children want to play too
