Weʼve raised £9,060 to have a life changing operation

    Stirling, United Kingdom
Funded on Sunday, 20th December 2015

    Story

I began to lose function in my left leg in January 2008.I didn't have an accident or get injured, I just couldn't walk. I was diagnosed with a chronic neurological pain condition (RSD/CRPS) which has no cure.
On 6th May 2011 I first asked Drs to consider amputation. Treatments weren't working for me, my condition was going downhill rapidly and I didn't see the point in living with a limb which served no purpose to me. Having finally found a surgeon, I then found out that the NHS won't fund it.

For 6 years now I have been wanting my leg amputated - it is a completely non-functional limb so there is no point in having it. On 6th May 2011 I asked Drs to consider amputation, I now finally have a surgeon wanting to operate. But the NHS have declined funding the operation.
