Story
Started by an experienced speech and language therapist and horsewoman, we have been successfully working for 6 years with children with disabilities like autism and cerebral palsy. Some have spoken their first words on the back of a horse, others have gained the confidence to go back into education and others still have gone on to take real equine qualifications. Sadly funding from statutory groups like social services and schools has become progressively tighter and more sparse over the past year or so and many parents have managed to find the money to continue to come, but for some it has been too expensive. We would like to fund staff hours and insurance costs so that children and young people can continue to benefit from our fully qualified therapists (speech and counsellor) and teacher as well as the horse professionals required for the sessions to be safe and professional.
