Rossendale Special Ski Club is a club for individuals with learning difficulties and special educational needs run voluntarily by passionate and enthusiastic ski coaches. We teach individuals with a wide variety of needs and have run several successful trips to France and Switzerland so that individuals with such difficulties can have the same opportunities as those without. . Some of our skiers go onto great things and after a successful national competition in Serre Chevallier two of our skiers- David and Becky have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Games next year which will be held in Austria:- we are all really proud! :)
Unlike more 'mainstream' competitions the co-operate sponsorship and funding is not the same so in order to attend the athletes need to pay their way.
What we are hoping to do is raise sufficient funds to support David and Becky in getting to the World games next year so they can represent GB and the more importantly the North West! Any additional funds will help get them some new equipment (ski's aren't cheap) and also subsidize the cost of the athletes parents attending so that they can be there to cheer them on.
