Story
Harehills is a mile out of the centre of Leeds and is home to a large community of asylum seekers and refugees, many from Eritrea, Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Sub-Saharan and north Africa, Bangladesh and Pakistan. There is dire need for provision of free English classes. These are currently almost non-existent, especially for those of lower ability levels. People who have sought refuge here have a real desire to learn English in order to assimilate, yet can't afford steep college or private fees.

Well, I've worked as an ESOL teacher for five years, in Bradford and Leeds; I also teach various humanities subjects at Bradford College. When not doing that, I'm a book editor/writer. I started working with refugees in Harehills last year, but feel I could do so much more.
