    Story

Lee-Anna Walker - An amazing 17 year old, academically gifted and vibrant young girl with everything to live for with a full and happy life ahead, sadly and suddenly on 2nd February 2016 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) - A cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. This was a shocking and debilitating time for the family who needed time to digest the enormity and severity of the situation, however time was the one commodity that they couldn’t afford, they had to act, and act swiftly.

Lee-Anna’s father is British and lives and works in the south of England and due to the lack of availability of the right treatment at home, the family were left with no alternative but to bring Lee-Anna from Jamaica to the UK where so far she has completed two cycles of chemotherapy treatments. The assessment received from the consultants is that the disease is a lot more severe than originally thought, and as such, Lee-Anna will require an urgent bone marrow transplant if she is to survive this life threatening illness.

As Lee-Anna is not a resident in this country, unfortunately she is NOT entitled to NHS treatment and will have to be treated and cared for privately. All costs will need to be paid in advance before Lee-Anna is allowed this life saving treatment – its estimated at a staggering £100,000 and treatment to date is well over £40,000 which has depleted the families savings and the goodwill of their nearest and dearest. However, more needs to be done and a lot more needs to be found to help this beautiful child get well and happy once again.

Lee-Anna is determined to defeat this horrible illness but will require your continued support, whatever it may be (Prayers, Messages, Donations, Love, etc
