    Story

I attended the launch of an awareness campaign / initiative to fund ongoing research to cure CJD.

They know how the disease works, have a strategy to tackle and prevent the symptoms before it takes hold and developed the drugs to stop the illness.

However they need funding to run further trials to prove the concept. Once established they should be able to secure additional funding.

Diana’s illness is Gerstmann–Sträussler–Scheinker syndrome (GSS) and is very similar to CJD.

If they cure CJD, they also cure GSS.

My passion is to raise money and help beat this illness. It is too late for Diana as she passed recently.I know she would want us to do all we can to treat and beat GSS.

Any monies I raise will go direct to www.curecjd.org

My lovely, beautiful and talented sister Diana passed away last weekend peacefully at home. No words can describe the emptyness, sadness and heartbreak that I'm sure we all feel at this time. Personally I would like to thank everybody for the donations, kind messages and ongoing support - it really is helping me. The money that has been raised is truly humbling. If we can contribute, in a small way, to stop this horrific illness then I'm sure it will be a wonderful legacy to Diana. With Lots of love John x
