Most of my good friends will know that this is Ethel, one of the best friends I've ever had. Ethel will be 97 this year....she lives in an upstairs flat so my husband and I thought it would be a great idea to buy and fit a key safe for her, to enable her close family and friends to visit, without her having to struggle to get down the stairs to open the door. The key safe has been a God send, as district nurses and her GP could also visit at the drop of a hat. Last night, some low life vermin, who goodness knows how, has let themselves into Ethel's flat, and whilst she was sitting in her lounge, totally unaware, this low life scum has stolen £180 from her bedroom. They then, locked the door and put the key back in the key safe. My husband feels bad, as he bought the key safe and fitted it. The police have visited Ethel but can't do much, as the money was stolen from a leather purse, therefore no finger prints were obtainable. Ethel is really upset, she has spent the day crying, she is worried about how she will afford to pay her bills and attend the coffee morning at her local church. This is a lady who worked hard all her life, has never caused any harm to anybody and has brought so much joy into our lives, she is an absolute pleasure to be with. I just hope that whoever stole her money will one day get what they deserve. Should you wish to donate to this worthy cause, however small, it may help Ethel get over this traumatic experience.
