The Hearing Fund UK is in need of funds to raise awareness and support deaf children and their families in the UK. They are particularly wanting to purchase musical instruments for the children, so that they can take them home to practise. They also provide private one to one specialised individual music tuition on a weekly basis. This often leads to the children taking Graded music exams, and excellent results are being achieved.

Although having recently become hard of hearing myself, I cannot imagine what it must be like for a child to not be able to hear even the simplest sounds that we take for granted. As they learn to play a musical instrument with specialised tuition, their confidence grows immensely in all aspects of their lives.

All monies raised will be transferred to The Hearing Fund UK. I have been invited to present the first of the instruments to one of the children at The Annual Hearing Fund Gala in August this year.

All money raised by my swim is to be donated to The Hearing Fund UK. It is especially needed to buy musical instruments for the children, along with individual weekly tuition.
